The Royal Commission has released an ICT Strategy and Architecture Report from the Architecture Practice which describes the findings of their independent assessment of the current state of aged care information, communications and assistive technology systems for the aged care sector. It found that there are major deficiencies which do not lead to positive outcomes for older Australians accessing aged care which focus on
- Disconnected business processes;
- Lack of data collection and sharing;
- Poor interoperability;
- Obsolete technology; and
- A fundamental lack of standardisation.
